Need a hand with Fairsum? Here are quick answers and how to reach us. Fairsum is a private, on-device app for tracking your bills, subscriptions, and income — your data stays on your phone, so there's no account to recover and most questions are about the app itself.
Contact us
Email contact [at] fairsum.au — the best way to reach us with a question, bug, or suggestion. We aim to reply within a few business days. When reporting a problem, it helps to include your phone model and Android version, and what you were doing when it happened.
Common questions
- My reminders aren't showing up.
- Check that notifications are allowed for Fairsum (your phone's Settings → Apps → Fairsum → Notifications), and that battery optimisation isn't stopping it. In Fairsum, check Settings → Reminder for how many days before you're reminded. Reminders are best-effort and depend on your phone — please don't rely on them as your only way to remember a bill.
- How do I back up my data?
- In Fairsum, go to Settings → Backup → Export backup. This saves an encrypted backup file you can store in Google Drive, Files, or email. Do this occasionally, and especially before changing phones.
- How do I move to a new phone?
- On your old phone, Export backup and save the file somewhere you can reach it. On the new phone, install Fairsum and use Settings → Backup → Import backup to restore it.
- How do I export my data to a spreadsheet?
- Settings → Export data → Export as spreadsheet (CSV) — opens in Excel, Google Sheets, or similar. (Use Export backup, not CSV, if you're moving to a new phone.)
- How do I change my currency or reminder timing?
- Both are in Settings: Currency (Australian dollars by default) and Reminder (Same day, or 1/2/3/5/7 days before).
- How do I delete my data?
- Your data lives only on your phone. Delete individual entries in the app, or uninstall Fairsum to remove everything. There's nothing stored on our servers to delete.
- Why do I see ads?
- Fairsum is free to use and supported by a single banner ad (Google AdMob). If you'd rather not see ads, an optional one-time purchase removes them. See our Privacy Policy for how ad data is handled.
- Can I remove the ads?
- Yes — a one-time in-app purchase removes the banner ad. The free version stays fully functional; the purchase just hides ads.
- Is my data private?
- Yes — your entries are stored on your device and aren't sent to us. See the Privacy Policy for detail.
